Finance Assistant

Position Overview

Gosal Freights Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Finance Assistant to join our growing team. In this role, you will support the finance department in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and timely
• Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts on a regular basis
• Assist with preparation of financial reports, including monthly and quarterly statements
• Maintain organized financial records and documentation
• Process employee expense reports and reimbursements
• Support payroll processing and related administrative tasks
• Assist with invoice generation and follow-up on outstanding payments
• Coordinate with vendors and clients regarding billing inquiries
• Help prepare documentation for audits and tax filings
• Perform data entry and maintain accuracy in accounting software
• Support the finance team with ad-hoc projects and reporting as needed

Required Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or finance role
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the logistics, transportation, or supply chain industry
• Working towards or completed CPA, CGA, or CMA designation
• Experience with multi-currency transactions and cross-border accounting
• Familiarity with Canadian tax regulations and GST/HST reporting
• Bilingual (English/French) is an asset
